The History of Sugar Magnolia in Oxford, Ms

Born in 1926 in Holly Springs, MS, Lois Swaney-Shipp always had a passion for antiques and historical items. She worked as a curator at the Marshall County Historical Museum and was known for running an antiques shop out of her home. Sharing the wonder of antiques with others gave her true joy.

Swaney-Shipp's devotion to antiques and collectibles laid the foundation for the Sugar Magnolia that locals in Oxford, MS, know today. Located in the heart of this historic town, Sugar Magnolia houses dozens of unique vendors showcasing a wide array of home furnishings, repurposed items, crafts and more.
